Post by S7 ROWDYFLASH on Thu Jul 02, 2015 3:24 pm

Hi guys. I have been off and on here lately and recently have been obsessed with twitch. The bug has bitten me so I am seriously considering building a killer set up..have pc Xbox one and I know of capture devices such as the elgato. I just need to know wheel kinda tips I can get from of my fellow clan mates. Thanks.

if your looking to  build a pc for just streaming and not alot of pc gaming   it should be  around  300-500 range  (even at that range you can play most pc games around high settings)
the cheapest route is if you can build your pc yourself (or have a friend that can do it )  that will save you alot of money .. now their are companys out their  that  can build one for you but the price will go up .. the company i would  recommend is ibuypower    link is HERE

i would say go cheap on the parts you can  like PC case , fans , hard drives, if you dont need a disc drive dont buy one.
the items you want to  try and spend the most on are
Graphics card
CPU
Ram
Motherboard  ( most  even top end  ones are 50-130 bucks)

and their are several internal  capture cards with hdmi ports  you can buy from 50-100 bucks

now if you want external  i  do agree El Gato  is a good  brand  myself  i like using Hauppauge - HD PVR 2
it will work well with any  console  that has HDMI ports  so  ps4 or xb1  along with other things like  you could record live tv and so on .

if your going to go all out  might want to think of   picking up a green screen  and lights  along with a nice webcam . if  your wanting to stream a camera of you playing ..

OBS  is a free streaming software on the pc  thats what i use  for streaming my pc games and what i used when i had the old gen Hauppauge  for my 360 and ps3. and really  most streamers use OBS.  link to their download is HERE

another ok one  but  their free version is meh  is Xsplit,  its ok  but really OBS is better then even the paid version of Xsplit.

When you  pick the games you want to stream a cool thing to do is get a screen overlay  they make it looks like you  really put time into  making your stream nice  i ask the clan to build me one from D3 on pc

this is what it looked like before

and this is the overlay made for me  that  add a nice touch  to the tool bar

Then  you just ask to have some made that works for your games and i think you will be good to go. if you need any help  or  need some more info  hit me up i  have streamed for years and love doing so

if you need pc building help feel free to ask Glock ,Atrum or myself have all built pc's before. their might be more people but those are who i can think of right now

https://pcpartpicker.com/

That site should help. Depending what you need... I'd really say $1000 is the cutoff for a solid rig for gaming, streaming, etc. Below that you might see some issues depending what you do.

That's excluding keyboard, mouse, headset, etc.

Thanks guys. I do have a cyberpower gaming pc. I plan on using the OBS software just am kinda leary of what i need as far as ram. It came with 8gb DDR3 ram. I did replace the graphics card with a Gforce gtx 750ti. It uses an AMD fx 6300 six core. Using the xbone with the elgato im hoping it all works.

Very novice on that sorta thing and curious if thats enough to get started. Mics and headsets i know are needed for great production as well as a green screen but that will come so long as what i have so far will work.

right now most pc gamers i know  say 8gb of ram is the sweet spot  and i would agree   my pc has 8gb of kingston hyper x limited black edition  and its great for what i  do ...  now if you going  into heavy rendering  and thing  like that  8g  might be a little low  shoot for 16 ish

the 750ti is still a solid card i  have a 560ti and it does great so a 2 model  newer 750ti  should be   great ..
i also run a amd 6 core but mine is 1090t black edition   i got the black edition  because i over clock  my stock speed is 3.2ghz   overclocked it to 4.0ghz.  your Vishera cpu   from what i have seen is a solid  cpu   and should  boost itself to 4.2ghz when its needed

so  with your specs i dont see an issue pc gaming at 1080p  with med-high on most game and less graphic  demanding ones on ultra.
the good thing about  using a pvr for console streaming   is that takes ALOT of the load off your computer  so you should be able to max out the quality  for the stream

I agree with sticky. 8 GB is a great spot to be right now. If you were building for a few years in the future (using Windows 10, etc) You'd probably want to jump to 16 GB. For a streaming game PC for now-3 years from now 8 should be fine. As should the 760 TI. CPU should be fine.

Overall you sound good to go. Potential upgrades:

- Put your OS on a SSD instead of HDD (If it isn't already)
- Upgraded soundcard
- 2nd monitor if you don't already have one

For streaming 'extras'

- Quality webcam
- Quality headset/standalone MIC (standalone MIC can be cool visually)
- Audio Mixer
