Good that people are supporting Net Neutrality. IDK about the Title II regulation. I don't have nearly enough time to read the entirety of the law, my general feeling: I don't trust the incompetent people in the government not to interpret the law poorly and cause future issues. Then again, most ISPs are staffed with equally greedy/incompetent people.

Great news for free speech and the free market!

And not all of us in government are incompetent. Laughing

I mean, it essentially just shifts control of the internet from ISPs to the Government. At this exact moment that seems good - it makes it more difficult for ISPs to be shady with your content.

Hopefully that's all it is - leveraging the government to restrict corporations from limiting what content we see.

Agreed. Its a step in the right direction if done and managed correctly.

Lol. S. Korea has insane support for their network. The country is small enough they can actually have a fiber grid essentially laid out to cover everyone. Too bad the US is so large or we'd definitely be up there with them.

Will this at all effect mobile data throttling? One policy of carriers I can't stand. I pay for an unlimited data plan and get throttled big time if I go over 3 gigs of data. It seems like once your get throttled it goes from good to 1990 aol dial up.

No, throttling is a different issue because it does not affect what websites or apps get preferred bandwidth.  If you have a carrier with an "unlimited" data plan, that is what you get - throttling.  "Unlimited" is a marketing gimmick because it doesn't actually exist, yet, because mobile bandwidth is still a much more scarce commodity than ISP bandwidth.  That will change as technology improves, so maybe someday there will be true unlimited mobile data.
