GOME MOBA
Anyone tried Guardians of Middle Earth 5v5 battle arena? There is a demo. I bought it for just $20. Got no sleep last night because of it. My favorite so far is Wulfrun.

It's out already?!
I had no idea. I play LoL every night and have been interested in this. I'll pick it up.
PS: If you do anything PC gaming wise, you should play some LoL with me.

Re: GOME MOBA
Played a little late last night. The other day I spent 5000 gold to unlock Sauron - he seems to have all the right abilities to be god-like but I can't use him worth a d@mn, so that was disappointing. Last night I unlocked Lugbol - he does ridiculous ranged damage and I was tearing it up. I also unlocked Agandaur and found he may be even more powerful than Lugbol. Both of those are great and wiping out the other team.
So I see Free2012 has it but haven't seen anyone else on yet. Anyone plan to pick this up or at least try out the demo? It is a lot of fun.

Re: GOME MOBA
Out of curiosity how is money earned in each game? Do you just receive it as the game goes on, get it rewarded for killing minions, or... ?

Re: GOME MOBA
You get X gold and Y xp after each match. I believe both depend on how you perform during the game. Wins get you more than losses. A really short game isn't going to net as much as a longer game where you kill and destroy lots. I've received as little as a couple hundred gold on a terrible match and maybe 1300 on a very good match. Most of the best relics and gems are 4000 or 5000. Each of the unlocable characters are 5000. I don't know the formula for how gold and xp are earned exactly but it takes into account player kills, multikills, assists, structures destroyed, and soldiers killed.

Re: GOME MOBA
Ahh, so within each individual game there is no store or anything right? Sounds pretty interesting.

Re: GOME MOBA
No, no in-game store. You do all that before you join a game. You have a belt where you equip 7 slots. You can equip a relic that is 2, 3, or 4 slots long, and in each relic you can attach gems, or you can attach gems directly to your guardian's belt instead. The advantage of attachiing gems directly is that every 2 levels another gem would activate. The disadvantage is you would lose out on the relic buff. For example, a 3 slot relic with 3 gems in it at the beginning of your belt would not activate until level 6, while just 3 gems alone without the relic would activate at 2, 4, and 6. You can level up to 14 each game at which point you cap out and have your entire belt active and all abilities maxed out. There are also potions to equip, and a "Command" ability that has a global cooldown with other "Commands" - this is seperate from your 4 regular guardian abilities.

Re: GOME MOBA
Ahh gotcha.
As for abilities, are they all Area Effect attacks? Or are there directional skill shot ones too?

Re: GOME MOBA
Depends on your Guardian. Lugbol shoots single-target spells mostly and a area of effect projectile also. Gandalf uses a few local AOEs. Agandaur uses an AOE that is a few meters in front of him and a cone AOE. There are warrior type characters with single-target skills. Some skills can be used against any enemy (like the AI soldiers) and some must be used on other players (Guardians). Some of those that target guardians also have a side effect AOE that hits the nearby soldiers. Some target multiple guardians through AOE. It really depends on your choice / preference. There is a good amount of variety in the guardians. They are also promising a good amount of DLC guardians.

Re: GOME MOBA
I always wanted to try LoL but don't have a good PC right now. This seems like the same thing, but for the console. Rather than a port it is designed for the console so the controls are smooth and intuitive. I hope a few more of yall out there join in the fun. Would be cool to have 5 of us.

Re: GOME MOBA
Might have to pass. I can play LoL for free, so I don't why I'd pay $20 for a game with a similar feel right now espcially after doing Christmas shopping. Need to save back up.
