I'll probably post up soon but I'm still torn between what I'm going to use. My top contender is a Skyline GTR V-Spec ii, since it has a fairly good mix of accel, handle, and top end.

However, I've beefed up my RS 6 (from A class) even more but I can't get the breaking down so it's like trying to turn a rocket. I've been playing with the brake pressure and front vs back braking but I just can't seem to get it right.

And for those small and twisty courses I have a murdered out Puegot that can do donuts on a dime but has the top end of a hippo. It will be like racing a pregnant roller skate but it's pretty effective for courses like Fujimi or Tsukuba, since I know someone will pick one of those or something asinine like Camino Viejo mini or short circuit.

I intend to use my Italia 458. I don't have any photos yet but it is currently shared in the clan garage if you want to check it out. I also have a few Porsches ready to go as well (just for the fun of it.). One of them is quite good too. I'll try to get some pictures up soon.

Re: S Series Contenders

For some reason I know that my tuner is gonna get blasted in this tourney. Meh, same sh*t, different tourney.

Just out of curiosity, roughly where does everyone run the brake pressure in their cars? Since I've only just started toying with this I'm doing a lot of trial and error. However, when you're running S class that can get up to above 200mph you need to have a car that can brake without locking the tires. I'm trying to figure out when I play with the pressure when the tires are locking. I've been guessing that when the car drops skid marks that my tires are locking before the ABS kicks in but I wasn't sure. Anyone got some suggestions or could someone possibly try and help me with brake pressure on my "rocket" so I can have an idea as to what a proper setup should be like? I've tried reading the descriptions and Googling terms I'm not familiar with but I'm still having a lot of trouble.

I should preface this by saying that I'm completely lost when it comes to most things about cars (keep the jokes about turning in my man card) so most of what I'm learning is from tinkering with my Forza cars and reading what everyone here posts. Oh, and I welcome all of the help I can get but I could use "Cars for Dummies" style help so I can figure out what I'm supposed to be doing.

I put my brake pressure at 98%. No real reason, just always have set it there.
I'm one of the few in the clan that actually adjusts how hard I squeeze the trigger while braking. A lot of guys go all or nothing for trigger pressure.
Try a few laps on a track and NEVER pull the brake trigger all the way down (this is not optimal) but will give you a feel for it.

Gotcha. I was playing with a pressure around 65-75 and most of the time the tuning calculator was suggesting around 85 so I was just tweaking it then trying various stops and turns from gentle to aggressive to see how the changes panned out. It's a slow process that way an I was just looking for the kind of help you listed. Didn't know that you should avoid pulling the brake trigger all the way down.

It's not that you should avoid it, it's just in my opinion if you're dropping your braking down you're dropping your cars braking potential. I think epic actually sets his around 110%.
There are definitely some turns where I slam that trigger to get enough sway to pull around a corner. If you notice a corner where you lock up doing that, just ease up on the trigger rather than going to the brake settings.

I rock about 98% pretty consistently.

I had always rocked 110-115%...

as of the last few tourneys I dropped it to the 98-100% range and I really noticed a difference in Forza 4 with it... too much locking up of the brakes at high pressures...

But as its been said... its all about how you drive/play... the higher the pressures the more aggressive you can be.... BUT there is a much smaller window for error... One mistake at 110% will cost you more in time than what you lose at lower pressure.

Yeah, I tried switching over to 98% on the cars I was testing and that seems to be working great. Ran a handful of laps with each of the cars and the braking seems to be working a lot better now.

Which just reinforces the main idea of tuning:
It should help your car go faster and you race better.
Always race your car before tuning it. Tuning calculators can be good starting places, but honestly you'll have a moderate amount of times that it actually makes the car worse.

When I am testing out a car I am building there are some basic tuning things I will do to all my cars to see if they are worthy of a full tune.
1. Put the brake pressure at 98
2. Put the ride hight down
3. Put the tire psi to 28

The ride height and PSI are two things I do the same to every car and now I'll be putting the brake pressure around 98 for all of them too.

I can be anywhere between 28.0 and 29.5 PSI depending on the car.
