Here is the current plan for the Hero's of Olympus release dates.

http://www.rickriordan.com/my-books/percy-jackson/heroes-of-olympus.aspx

If we die December 2012 I'm going to be pissed because I can't finish this book series.

Also just picked up "Eye of the Red Tyar" a story about a Russian inspector. I think it has multiple books so it has to be a decent read.

Also "Hero's of Olympus" Are bigger books so even though they are an easy read it will take more time to finish the book

The lost Hero - 576 pages

Son of Neptune - 544 pages

I don't think you will. You don't seem to understand that death supersedes your ability to be pissed.

Finished Just After Sunset. Most of the short stories in that were really good, a couple were too predictable though, and one was pretty much unreadable for me.

That's the one about the Kennedy assassination, right? I hear that's pretty good.
Yep, that's the one. So far so good - my mom says it gets better toward the end - I think I'm just getting to that point where the action will pick up, but even what I've read so far has been interesting. Not quite gripping me where I couldn't put it down, but still a good read. Some characters from IT have made a short appearance too.

I'm saying if the Mayan calendar is right then I wont be able to finish the book series. I don't see how your post has anything to do with literature instead it seems to focus on annoying the person its directed towards. If you feel like talking about how stupid I supposedly am make a thread about it, I bet other people will agree with you.

Amazing and ironic at the same time...In a literary thread you misread my post.
I did said "you don't seem to understand" however reading comprehension tells us the statement doesn't mean you're stupid (your words)...it's merely a way to point out to the reader that he/she has misunderstood or misjudged one key element of their earlier post (i.e.) if you're dead you'll have no ability to become "pissed" at anything. It's a subtle joke and not a direct hit at the person or their intelligence. I'm now starting to think Epic may have been correct, you maybe pulling these critiques from Siri or some outside news source Rolling Eyes

My comment was directed towards knowing when and how I was going to die giving me the ability to be pissed before I died. I'm not sure how telling someone they don't understand if "you're dead you'll have no ability to become "pissed" at anything" is not insulting that person. I guess your humor isn't funny to me.

It seems like typos always pop up at times like that.

That being said the Mayan calendar thing is a joke. Y2K was much more legit.

Re: Literature Thread

Finished up the "Inspector Pekkala series". It in includes three books all taking place between 1910-1930ish. Each book takes the perspective if Inspector Pekkala a native Russian, born in Finland before it was independent. The book series uses Historical fiction intertwining the Tsar and Stalin creating great suspense with an ever powerful figure watching over Pekkala. I don't want to say more for it would take value away from the book but for anyone interested I would recommend this series. So far I have been a fiction/science fiction/ fantasy reader. This book is my first step into Historical fiction and I hope my next series is as good.

US
Book 1: Eye of the Red Tsar
Book 2: Shadow Pass
Book 3: Archive 17

EU
Book 2: The Red Coffin
Book 3: Siberian Red

The book 2 and 3 thing confused me and I found no indication of a different story line so I'm assuming the author published the book overseas in a different language. Also I found these books through my online library so I would be shocked if you can't pick up a free digital/paperback copy at your local library.

I liked A Princess of Mars, it's also free download on Kindle. I'm reading World War Z right now and it's ok. The style its written in takes a little getting used to though. Nobody mentioned Ready Player One?

Sweet thanks for the info on a Princess of Mars I was renting that from the library but all they had was a adobe reader file which is really annoying to use because I have to read it from my bulky laptop.

I just finished The Bourne Identity today. The book is very different from the movie. The basic story of an amnesiac trying to figure out who he is is about the only similarity with the movie. Well that and the fact that he's a badass. It's extremely fast paced and keeps you on your toes. A really fun read.

Finished King's 11/22/63 last night. Very good. I was angry near the end because I was emotionally invested in the characters. I always want the mega happy ending like in Wayne's World, but rarely get it. I recommend it for anyone who likes historical fiction, suspense, and just good narrative that takes you for a ride. It also fits in nicely with his magnum opus Dark Tower series.
