Streaming and Recording

Post by S7 Wiggles1778 on Wed Jul 06, 2011 2:00 am

So since I have a new comp coming, I'm planning on getting something for streaming and recording... I had planned on getting something along the lines of a Blitzbox HD (where i can play in HD and streaming/record in lower def) but after actually reading the reviews and see that the company is sh1t, I'm looking to go another direction...

any thoughts... i'd like to keep it around $150 or so...

I guess a side note to this... i normally play 1080i thru the component cables or what not on my TV/Computer Monitor... so i'm not looking for 1080p...

I was reading that 1080p is redic high priced etc...

basically, anyone with some knowledge on the topic feel free to throw it my way...

I've read about these options:

Roxio Game Capture
http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/game-capture/console/overview.html

Pinnacle's Dazzle
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Plus+HD.htm

Def talk to Sticky about capturing video.

either blackmagic or the hauppauge
they are really the only way to play and record in HD

What sticky said. Blackmagic isnt too uber over priced anymore. So they're a good option for solid quality. Have fun learning how to encode correctly so the files arent 1TB lol

My only issue with most of those... Don't I have to stream in HD? From what I was reading at least.... I'm looking to stream/record in lower def will something like that do it?

yeah I'm gonna go with the Hauppauge - HD Personal Video Recorder... being that my comp should get here today (and they have it at Best Buy for a fairly equal price to online)

In theory... that should mean I'll be test streaming hopefully today (prolly tomorrow since best buy doesn't open til 10am here and I'll be waiting for the computer)

I'm going to ask the stupid question. Are you stream or recording and is it on your xbox or PC?
